Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
This is perhaps one of my favorite passages of scripture and one that speaks deeply to my soul. Back in early 2005, I was baptized at the age of 28 and was restored to that covenant relationship with God. Basically, I made an agreement with God that day to put away my old self, my old habits and to follow after my Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. My life will never be the same.
You see before that I was following after my own will, my own path, and not following God's plan for my life at all. I was basically a good person, but I wasn't living like a Godly person. There's a difference. Since then, I've been consumed with this idea of transforming my life and renewing my mind toward God. It's almost as if I'm un-programming all the junk Satan (and his followers) have put into my head all my life.
Now I'm committed to living a life that pleases God. I'm committed to listening to his voice and determining what his will is for my life. I believe very much that God/Jesus is alive and wants desperately to be a part of my life, and yours too. I'd be interested in hearing how God is working in your life. Please feel free to post your testimony below. Let's be peculiar and talk about God freely!!
